Zion National Park — We Loved It So Much, We Moved Here

Yup. We’re officially locals. After visiting Zion a bunch of times and falling in love with literally everything here…

Zion National Park isn’t just another cool national park. It’s the place that made us want to change our lives. After visiting a few times, we fell in love with the canyon walls, the wild trails, the tiny towns around it, and the energy of the whole place.

Fast-forward — and yeah, we moved here. We now live just outside the park and spend our weekends exploring it in every way possible: early sunrises on top of cliffs, rainy hikes through slot canyons, chill river walks, and discovering quiet corners even locals don’t know about.

This post is your deep-dive guide to Zion: the famous hikes, the hidden ones, tips from locals (that’s us now lol), and everything you need to know to have a wild, unforgettable trip.

About Zion National Park

Zion is Utah’s first national park and one of the most visited in the country — and for good reason. You’ve got everything from jaw-dropping hikes like Angel’s Landing to chill, family-friendly walks by the river.

The park is split into several main areas:

  • Zion Canyon: the main tourist zone with shuttle access

  • Kolob Canyons: quieter, less-visited area to the northwest

  • East Zion: awesome slickrock and fewer crowds

Elevation ranges from 3,600 to over 8,700 feet, and every season brings a totally different experience.
